"They rode out almost every day."
For chickaitdee for the Exchangelock challenge. I combined Kidlock/Teenlock/Historial AU as all were mentioned in the prompt. I added the horses ;). Hope you like it.
The drawing is inspired by Chryse's masterful Historical AU The Frost Is All Over.

I think my favorite part of the fic was this part, set on the Holmes family estate.

Helen, my gorgeous girl going for her first swim ever. She is blind and deaf and I was so nervous I could hear my heart pound in my ears but she loved it. She laid in my arms and walked around the shallows happily. (She is attached to a safety line as well.)

M*A*S*H rewatch1x18 - ‘Dear Dad… Again’

"I don’t want you to think this is a madhouse, Dad. We’re nowhere near that organised."

My half of an art trade with emstantinople! I drew one of her knight boyfriends from sonnetcomic, Dancy! Lemme tell you, it was hard to choose which knight to do, but the blonde + pink combo won.

I had SUCH a good time with this, you have no idea!! The style that “Sonnet” is done in is so inspiring, I was super stoked when emstantinople wanted to trade with me!! I hope you like this!

AHH! Sweet lord this is so dazzling and beautiful, dude is rockin the pastels. And DANG all those details, and the flowery halo, I love everything. Thanks so much!!

I am often flabbergasted by how much my use of Facebook [and other similar mediums] to collaboratively organize and exchange thoughts and resources about transgressive topics is ridiculed by those who are also academics. It is as if I should be hiding my academically-trained voice from citizens, after having — literally — billions of taxpayer dollars invested in the social, professional, and intrapsychic development of academics. Why wouldn’t I share what I am learning and passionate about with my networks? Why wouldn’t I also invest time bettering my campus and home communities with my work? Why wouldn’t I seek out multiple ways to learn and become better from these networks? As a queer, multiracial, first-generation college student in the United States, I was born into an age where I was finally able to discover myself online, and early enough, despite a world that told me harmful lies about myself and those like me everywhere I went. Access to diverse sources of information saved me.

It is the duty of guardians of this knowledge to continue sharing what we know with others through all means possible. We must honor the cyber connection we share with the rest of the world that has access to this medium (and be aware of this privilege), not dismiss it as trivial. Whatever institution I work at in the future should be forward thinking enough to revere the power and importance of de-centralized, collaborative, cooperative, inclusive and accessible communication strategies. I will not be shamed for building meaningful connection outside of my field and outside of the ivory tower in an age where academia’s shunning of the masses has lead to a culture of dismissing and mistrusting peer-reviewed knowledge. Our processes must align with our goals. Join me.

M*A*S*H rewatch: 2x05 - ‘Dr. Pierce And Mr. Hyde’

"McIntyre, what makes him do these things?"

"He’s just unstable. He took this weird oath as a young man never to just stand around and watch people die."
