medievalthedas:

In lower margin (bas-de-page), cat watches fool play fiddle.

I wanted to share this because, well, it’s awesome: a cat, a fool, a medieval fiddle, braies (or breeches), hose, a jester’s hat. Lots of cool things going on in this image.

I bought these off of Unicorn Empire because I saw them and my first thought was “…I need cell phone charms.” Though they’re sold as key chains. I like them better than the John & Sherlock charms I’ve seen. Just a little more understated.

I got these as well!  How did you attach yours to the phone?

I always make sure that the lid over the keyboard is open before I begin to play.

Bibliothèque nationale de France, Français 112 (3), detail of f. 152. Romans de la table ronde. France, c. 1470. The birth of the Questing Beast (La bête glatissante). It looks like a wolfhound to me (barring the cloven hooves).
More on the Questing Beast here although nothing is said of its fewmets. ;~)

The mother looks remarkably relaxed for someone giving birth to something wider than she is.

The Speckled Blonde.

I like that cheeky snake.  No phallic symbols need apply.  It’s just a reference to the case, right?  Right?

Dancing to vinyl …

I’m sure you girls won’t mind if I do this at 2 a.m., right?  Or commandeer the bathroom to practice in because it has better acoustics?  Just be glad I don’t have a heavy Wagnerian voice!  That would curl your hair papers!
Another photo of one of the TGDRC members during the 1950s?  Although…there is only one album there.  I’m going to have to imagine that Emma and I have boxes of albums off-camera.  We also might get yelled at for playing/singing/dancing along with said music at late hours (especially me, I’m a Night Owl).  You’ll also appreciate my warming up and practicing, just I am sure you’ll be tolerant of the same behavior from Emma.  Hearing the same passage over and over and over and over…

As long as you don’t mind me doing the same first thing in the morning, we should be just fine!

Mind it, heavens no! A girl must practice her steps; otherwise she’ll make a fool of herself at the big dance! Cha cha cha.
(And who am I kidding: we all know I can sleep through a tsunami once my eyes slide shut, as whichever of you roomed with me freshman year never tires of teasing me about.)

A Morning Person, eh?  Morning begins at around 11 a.m., right?
And I would not tease anyone who could fall asleep and stay asleep, I would ENVY them.
